The 5 Best Wines from Trader Joes

Since moving to North Carolina, I recently discovered Trader Joes and instantly fell in love. Trader Joes has great food at great prices (plus it’s only five minutes from my work). You probably already know how awesome TJ’s is but did you know they have some of the best deals on wine?

I bought a plethora of Trader Joe wines and had my own little wine-tasting on my living room sofa. Listed below are my top five favorite wines from Trader Joes —all only 7$ or under! These wines are classy and won’t break the bank. So next time you need a bottle to take to your friend’s house or to have with dinner, stop by Trader Joes with this list in hand! Be sure to pick up some cheese and crackers in the next aisle.

Contadino Pinot Grigio (6$)

I rarely drink Pinot Grigio considering I don’t have much of a liking for it. Most Pinot Grigios are too crisp and dry for me (#unpopularopinion). However, I was pleasantly surprised by Contadino’s Pinot Grigio. The wine was bubbly and refreshing with a light taste of apple and pear. The wine is a pale yellow with flecks of green which also spotted my interest. At only 6$, this bottle is a great value!

Velvet Moon Cabernet Sauvignon (6$)

Don’t ever try to get me to pronounce Cabernet Sauvignon in real life because it’s impossible. I prefer red wines so I was so excited to try Velvet Moon’s Cab Sav! Doesn’t the bottle just look fancy? The wine itself is an elegant, dark ruby color. Pour yourself a glass for a delicious treat. Velvet Moon Cabernet Sauvignon goes down smooth and silky. If you  don’t identify as a “wine person”, this wine will make you think again.

Green Fin Grenache Rose (7$)

I have heard so many great things about this wine that I wanted to give it a try. Green Fin is produced in the heart of Napa Valley, CA so it was bound to be good. The wine smells like cherries and strawberries —and tastes like it too! If you’re looking for a wine to pair with your steak, I wouldn’t recommend it though. This wine is definitely more of a fruity drink. Perfect for the summer time

Artius Chardonnay (6$)

You can never really go wrong with a Chardonnay! Chardonnay is the most basic of wines. Artius Chardonnay was a sweet and savory wine for a cheap price. It had a rich taste and strong smell. Although I’m only giving it two stars, I drank the whole bottle…

Cecilia Beretta Prosecco (6$)

While Prosecco could be classified as a champagne, it technically is sparkling wine so it’s in the running!

I absolutely LOVE Cecilia Beretta Prosecco and am sure you will too. This secco is bubbly and tangy. Making it the perfect drink to mix juices with to create a Summer cocktail. (Or warm apple cider in the Winter.) They also sell a Peach Prosecco and Cranberry Prosecco that I haven’t yet tried but am excited too! Bottom line: an excellent wine.
