I Tried Lula Roe So You Don’t Have To!

August 24, 2017

Some people love LulaRoe… Some people hate it… (Going as far as calling it a ‘scam’). LulaRoe seemed to pop up out of nowhere and then, took the world by storm.

I got bit by the LulaRoe bug and want to share some of my favorites (and not so favorite) things about the brand. And guess what? No affiliate links, sponsorships, or gimmicks. I simply want to help my readers discover clothing they love.

LuLaRoe is where “fashion meets comfort”. They produce tons of different women’s styles, that are all super cute but feel like you’re still in pajamas.

This Azure skirt was my first LuLaRoe purchase. I absolutely fell in love with the floral pattern —and if you find a pattern you love, you should grab it then because you probably won’t be able to find another like it!

The Azure skirt reminds me of a skater skirt with its elastic waist and flare, but the Azure falls a little longer. Making it totally work-appropriate. It looks super cute with your shirt tucked in our layered on top.

I am actually wearing a size XS in this picture but basically, have NOTHING else XS in my wardrobe.  The Azure runs a little big so you’ll want to size down.

The Amelia dress is my absolute favorite! The dress can either be worn casual or dressed up! I often wear this dress to work but I also plan on wearing it to a wedding in a few weeks.

I love the length and fit of the Amelia dress! The skirt is loose and hits me right above the knee. While the top is comfy and flattering as well. Plus I’m always self-conscious about my arms… so the sleeves are perfect! Did I mention it has pockets?

I love the Amelia but I hate the price. LuLaRoe can seem super expensive when you’re used to shopping at places like Target and Old Navy…. aka me. The Amelia is one of the highest priced items, priced at 65$.

LuLaRoe’s Julia dress forms to your body! This dress makes me feel sexy, yet still conservative. Make sense?

“This dress is a staple for every season’s wardrobe. It is feminine, flattering, and you may not ever want to take it off.”

Now let’s talk leggings. LuLaRoe is known for their amazing leggings. Their leggings are SO comfortable and soft. They also come in TONS of different vibrant colors and patterns.

I currently have four pairs of their leggings and have never had a problem. However, some people say the fabric is cheap and have reported fading and holes.

Their leggings come in two sizes: OS (one size) or TC (tall and curvy). I go with the OS leggings and they wear wonderfully! But I am 5’3 and 130 pounds. If you’ve got a bit of a booty, you should try TC!

The shirt I’m wearing in the picture above is LuLaRoe’s Randy Tee. I do adore this shirt…. but I probably won’t be any other LuLaRoe shirts.

To be honest…In my opinion, their shirts aren’t really anything special. And you could find the same quality somewhere else, for cheaper.

Their dresses, skirts, and leggings do take the cake though?

So where do I buy?

LuLuRoe is sold by independent consultants. Consultants usually use social media to sell, meaning there are literally HUNDREDS of private FB groups to buy! Literally just type “LuLaRoe” into the search bar… and you’ll see tons pop up!

Consultants can also host pop-up parties or sell at shows, festivals, etc. Which is another great option because you can try on before you buy!

Click to find a retailer near you.

Happy shopping, friends! I hope you can benefit from my LuLaRoe experience!

I’m really glad you wrote this post because I had been curious about LulaRoe when the ads were first plastered all over Facebook. Like Wayfair, this company turned me off by asking for my email address before I could even look at their catalogue. I decided I don’t need to buy from companies that are so pushy. But at least now some of that initial curiosity has been satisfied 🙂

Looks soooooo cozy! I’ve heard great things about that brand.

  • Hannah @ AndThenWeTried September 6, 2017 at 2:33 pm

TBH I didn’t know LuLaRoe sold anything other than leggings. Love those dresses, but I’m with you, $65 seems a little steep for something I feel like I could get at Old Navy for $20!

I’m a big LLR fan, I have a close friend who sells it. I definitely had some trial and error with some things, but I found the items that work well for me! I’m not as big a fan of the Azure, but I love the Madison skirt. And the Amelia is love. The fit is so great and they’re comfortable on top of it! I love the items you showed here!

Great post! I have friends that swear by Lularoe, but I’ve been hesitant. Now I really want to try them out!

  • Sara September 6, 2017 at 7:53 pm

I totally agree about the Amelia. I LOVE it so much, but it’s so pricy! I have several Lularoe dresses, tops, and leggings, and like them for the most part, but I’ve found the sizing to be a bit inconsistent, which is annoying. I appreciate your honest review!

I’ve heard a lot about LulaRoe but I didn’t realize they sold more than leggings! Your pieces look great on you!

  • Ashley September 7, 2017 at 12:32 am

The amelia dress is darling on you! I thought they only sold leggings!

I’ve never had any problems with my LulaRoe wardrobe and I want to add to it, but yeah, some things are quite expensive. I love their Irmas because it works well with the tights – you need something longer. I also love the Perfect T because it flares out a bit, which is good if you have a stomach. I’m a HUGE fan of the tights of course though!

I wish they did this for dudes, but with baseball caps and T-shirts. I think the leggings are the best. They’re like this really spunky expression of character, I think.

  • Whitney September 7, 2017 at 5:22 am

I think there stuff is super cute and I would love to try them out, but way to expensive for me. I can get some $5-10 leggings at Wal-mart that are just as cute!!

  • Shybiker September 7, 2017 at 11:17 am

Ooh, I love these. Heard of the brand but never tried it. Thanks!

  • Cynelle September 7, 2017 at 1:26 pm

Thank you for your insight as I haven’t gotten into this brand. Just curious whats the likelyhood that you and all your girlfriends show up to brunch wearing the same leggings?? JK 🙂

  • hanna September 7, 2017 at 3:16 pm

I love how soft their clothes are but I don’t think they are worth the price! Thanks for doing this so folks who have been on the fence can truly decide!

  • Angie September 7, 2017 at 4:22 pm

I used to buy a LOT of LLR. I mean I really went crazy for leggings last Fall and bought so many… I just don’t buy it anymore, there were so many quality issues with the cut of things and holes in leggings, and then so much fighting over certain prints. But I still keep a good stash of my favorites.

  • Lily September 7, 2017 at 5:09 pm

I love all of the fun colors and patterns they offer. I definitely wouldn’t mind trying their leggings.
