What To Do During Your Trip To to Nashville, TN

We had SO much fun during our time in Nashville, Tennessee and somehow fit tons of activities in such a short amount of time. (Trust me, we were exhausted by the end.) We saw a ton of beautiful places and had other great experiences but I wanted to list my favorites for you! Next time your in Music City, make sure to check out these attractions and take your own pictures! I can’t wait to go back and spend time in the best city with the best guy.

Pedestrian Bridge

If you want beautiful views of downtown Nashville and the Cumberland river, The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge is the perfect spot. The bridge is closed to automobile traffic and used strictly for pedestrian enjoyment.

It was built from 1907-09 and was originally named the Sparkman Street Bridge. The bridge contains 48 spans including four steel trusses and two reinforced concrete trusses. Since, it’s been restored to its current conditions.

Madame Tussaud

I’ve have ALWAYS wanted to go to Madame Tussaud. I’m sure you’ve seen Facebook pictures of your friends standing next to wax figures and wonder you can do this. Well, step into the spotlight at Madame Tussauds Nashville!

At Madame Tussaud’s, you can get up close and personal with several lifelike wax figures of your favorite celebrities! The whole thing only took about 30 minutes to walk through and it’s located in the Opryland Mall. That way you can hit up some shops or dinner afterwards! (But be careful because I ended up spending over a hundred dollars at the Old Navy outlet. Oops.)

Pantheon

Can’t get to Europe? No worries — The Parthenon in Centennial Park, in Nashville, Tennessee, is a full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens.

The Nashville Pantheon was built in 1897. While it is beautiful to look at, it also serves as Nashville’s art museum. The focus of the Parthenon’s permanent collection is a group of 63 paintings by 19th and 20th century American artists donated by James M. Cowan. We ended up going on a beautiful day and walked around the rest of Centennial Park after visiting… which Kona definitely enjoyed.

Cummins Falls

Ryan absolutely loves state parks and we’ve made it a goal to visit as many state parks in the U.S. we can! Cummins State Park was beautiful but unfortunately, one of the trails was closed due to mud the day we went. The big spotlight of Cummins State Park is its gorgeous waterfall that you can view from numerous overlooks or down at the bottom trail.

However, Cummins State Park will be a short day trip from Nashville. The park is about an hour drive away but totally worth it.

Gaylord Opryland

I am very rarely completely awestruck but the Gaylord Opryland Resort stopped me in my tracks. This place is jaw-dropping, friends.

Gaylord Opryland is massive. It’s actually the largest non-gaming hotel in the continental US, meaning you get Vegas resort size without a smoky casino to walk through. Take an afternoon to simply stroll around and tour the resort’s soaring atriums decked out with decorations, lights and water features. Which is what we did.

Just because you’re not staying at the Gaylord, does not mean you can’t go. Park at the mall and walk over to resort to avoid any fees. There are also tons of restaurants and bars for you to eat at and relax.

The grounds feature an impressive array of rare species and require a staff of 20 interior horticulturalists to maintain. There are more than 50,000 tropical plants inside the resort’s gardens, from soaring banana trees to trendy fiddle leaf figs. There are four separate garden “areas” for you to enjoy and explore.

You’ll even find an INDOOR RIVER visitors can take a boat tour on.

Holiday Lights at Cheekwood

This one is kind of a bonus. Unfortunately, this stop is only possible if you’re in Nashville during the months of December and January. While Cheekwood Country Club is open year round, their enchanting holiday lights experience is the real show stopper. You can savor the sights and sounds of the season at Cheekwood and make lasting holiday memories.

Cheekwood DECKS out their gardens with one million glowing lights. Yes, one million. Visitors can also take part in other holiday festivities including Santa visits, cookie decorating and meeting Santa’s reindeer.
