At the beginning of June, I flew to Beverly Hills for a Press Junket. My time was short but sweet! I packed two dresses, a makeup bag, and my toothbrush and was headed on my way. After 7 hours and two layovers I landed in LAX with my dreams and my cardigan. (Welcome to The USA, anyone?)
I’ve always wanted to visit California so I jumped at the opportunity when Entertainment Studios asked me. Unfortunately, when I landed, it wasn’t the typical sunny Cali that people and know and love. Of course during my stay, the weather was overcast. My luck.
Entertainment Studios housed me at the Montage Beverly Hills for the night and I had a fantastic time. You can read more about my stay later on, in my post on the hotel. The Montage was right at the heart of Beverly Hills, making it close to almost everything! After quickly putting my bags away, I ventured out of my hotel to explore…
Rodeo Drive is a HUGE shopping and tourist attraction in Beverly Hills. Rodeo Drive refers to a three block stretch of shops that the beautiful and wealthy drop hundreds at. I was shocked to see names like Fendi, Gucci, and Prada in real life. There’s not much you can do for cheap there… maybe pee in a fancy bathroom or look at expensive cars parked on the street???
As I walked the streets of Rodeo Drive, I pretended I was in Pretty Women. If you don’t know what infamous scene I’m talking about —In Pretty Women, Julia Robert’s character goes shopping on Rodeo Drive only to get originally turned away in her appearance. And recently, The Bachelorette’s, Rachel Lindsey rode horses up and down the streets of Rodeo on a date… which isn’t allowed IRL.
I left Rodeo empty handed but glad I went for the experience.

Back at the hotel, I ordered Red Bull and started Lucinda Riley’s Seven Sisters. I was unsure how I would like the book but absolutely hooked!! I’ll admit it: I judged the book by the cover. Seven Sisters is a story about adventure, love, and family. After the sister’s adoptive father dies of a heart attack, Maia, 1 of 6, goes on an adventure of a lifetime to discover her true heritage.
It was hard to put down the book when it was time for the 47 Meters Down screening.
I was on the edge of my seat during the whole movie!!! 47 Meters Down is follows two sisters, Kate and Lisa as they travel to Mexico “for a vacation filled with sun, fun and adventure. Lisa needs some extra persuasion when Kate suggests that they go diving in shark-infested waters. Safe in their protective cage, the thrill-seeking siblings come face to face with a group of majestic great whites. Their worst fears soon become a reality when the cage breaks away from their boat, sending them plummeting to the ocean floor with a dwindling supply of oxygen.” 47 Meters Down is a GREAT Summer fun movie! It’s sure to get your blood pumping and mind racing.
My time in Los Angeles was wonderful but I was excited to get back on the East coast. I’d love too visit CA again someday, but unfortunately, I won’t be flying anytime soon. You can read more about my flight scare here.
The best part about my trip was interviewing Mandy Moore, Matthew Modine, Claire Holt, and Yani. The actors did an awesome job in their roles and were SO easy to talk to. If you’d like to watch that interview, you can here:
